Religious School

Expression of the Beth El Hebrew Congregation Mission

At Beth El Hebrew Congregation, we partner with families to nurture and build the foundation of our childrens’ Jewish identity.

We challenge each student to welcome the diversity of the Jewish experience and discovery their own path to authentic relationships with God, Torah, our congregational community, Israel, and the Jewish people.

Connection

L’dor v’dor (Generation to Generation): We actively and intentionally build connections from one generation to the next.

Kehila Kedosha (Sacred Community): We build relationships within our religious school that lead to strong, sacred communities: peer to peer, student to teacher, and generation to generation.

Israel: We devote ourselves to wrestling with our dreams for Israel.

Meaning

Talmud Torah (Study of Torah): We engage in the study of Torah (and other religious texts); this is our bond to Jews all over the world.

T’filah (Prayer): We use prayer to connect with ourselves, others, and to be part of a community.

G’milut Chasadim (Giving or Live & Kindness): We actively seek out opportunities to elevate kindness and for tikun olam (healing the world).

Healing

Hachnasat Orchim (Welcoming): We are a student-centered, welcoming, and accepting community, endeavoring to meet the unique social, emotional, and physical needs of each student. We are a safe place for students to be their true selves.

Simchah (Finding Joy): We believe children are eager to learn and find joy in understanding the world around them. We seek to find ways to elevate their excitement for knowledge.
